Stoat or Weasel?

Mustelids are a group of carnivorous mammals, characterised by their long slender bodies, which enable them to hunt in the smallest of burrows! The UK in home to seven different mustelids including Badgers, Otters, Mink, Pine Martens, Polecats, and the smallest two; Stoats and Weasels! These can both be easily identified by their chestnut brown fur and cream white belly, however they’re very similar in size and tricky to tell apart. So how do you tell the difference between a stoat and a weasel? Well, it’s easier than spotting them for sure!
