Water running uphill on Dartmoor?!

Many people laugh when I tell them theres one small corner of Dartmoor where the water runs up hill. Then I’ve taken great satisfaction in showing these nay-sayers the leat in question and watching them scratch their heads! Take a look at the video below and tell me what you think…

Still don’t believe me? See it for yourself by heading along the B3212 between Yelverton and Princetown. Pull up on the side of the road by Black Tor, head down over the hill towards the aqueduct, and you cannot miss it. You can also find it on the Dartmoor OL28 OS map, grid ref: 573 714!
