Wild Swimming

Jumping into St Peter’s Pool, Malta

On the final day of a university field trip to Malta, we were given free rein to as we pleased. I asked a local student where would be cool place to swimming and they replied ‘St Peter’s Pool’, from their myself and a group of friends basically jumped in a taxi and boy was it worth it…

Located in the southeast corner of Malta, head to Marsaxlokk and then onto the Delimara peninsula with the Power Station. You can follow signs to car park and then its a short five minute walk to the pool.

If you fancy jumping in, all around the main basin is deep enough on a high tide. For a bit more adrenaline, there’s a ‘walk-the-plank’ style ledge, and if you can brave the clearance – some cliffs a short walk to the west – though its a bit of a swim to get back out!

As with any wild swim you should check the conditions and depth before anything new!
